Meet our lead Teacher

With five years of experience and a Diploma in Early Childhood Education, Amity brings warmth, patience and plenty of fun to our Toddler Room. Having been part of the Lollipop Lane family since she was just 15 years old, she has grown alongside the centre, developing into the passionate educator she is today. Amity loves watching toddlers discover their independence through play, exploration and meaningful relationships, celebrating each new milestone along the way. She creates a nurturing environment where every child feels encouraged to try new things, build confidence and develop at their own pace. Her kind-hearted nature, gentle approach and genuine love for the children make her a favourite with both families and her colleagues alike.

What children need at this stage

Toddlers need close relationships, simple choices, predictable rhythms and safe opportunities to move. Their communication is expanding quickly, and educators respond to gestures, sounds, words and behaviour as meaningful communication.

Settling and relationship

A warm welcome, familiar routines and a favourite activity help children move into the day. Educators offer comfort and stay close, while families share the words, songs and strategies that help their child feel safe.

Experiences you may see

• Playdough, painting and mark-making
• Music, movement and action songs
• Water, sand and messy sensory play
• Simple puzzles, posting and construction
• Books, puppets and small-group conversations

Routines and family communication:

Meals, rest, toileting or nappy care and comfort are responsive to each child within the room’s flow. Educators share practical routine information alongside observations of new interests, words, friendships and learning.
