Learn to Swim
Water Safety and Learn to Swim at Lollipop Lane
Why Learn to Swim?
Australian’s love the water. It has become part of our culture. This is why learning to swim in Australia is so important. With our Australian beaches and backyard pools, early introduction to learn to swim programs and water safety is an important part of keeping children safe around water.
The vision across our program is to teach water safety and learn to swim skills within a safe, friendly and positive environment.
When are swim lessons offered?
Lollipop Lane has a small outdoor heated pool perfect for little ones. We run water safety and learn to swim programs during the summer months, for children aged 3 and up.
Swimming is an optional program and parents are charged a small fee of $12 a class which is added to their weekly fees. Parents are welcome to have as many lessons a week as they would like; each lesson takes between 20-30 minutes and our classes run Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (or course weather depending).
Families are only charged for classes their child attends, if the weather is bad or your little one is under the weather, there is no charge.
How do we run our classes?
Our classes are purposely kept small, only 4 children at a time. We also always have 2 Educators present at all times for every class; one AusSwim qualified Swim Teacher / Educator and a second Educator to assist the entire lesson.
What do we include in our swim lessons?
All children will learn water safety skills, including breath control, movement, floatation and then move onto the basic swim skills. The emphasis is on safety, positive learning experiences and FUN! Lots of enjoyable games and song and learning through play.
All children get a report on EarlyWorks at the completion of each lesson, so parents know how their child is progressing. Parents are always welcome to come and view as well!
We are passionate about our swim program and our swim team is excited to be a part of your child’s journey in aquatics at Lollipop Lane.

Please see the link below for a fantastic Australian resource for parents and children, the Laurie Lawrence ‘Kids Alive - Do the Five’. This program was created by Laurie in 1988 to combat drowning for children. The Kids Alive community service program educates the public on five important steps to reduce the risk of preschool drowning.
